DANB’s Board has spearheaded several important initiatives to support the profession and is in the second year of its latest strategic plan.
“We have made momentous strides, focusing on the importance of dental assistants and the critical role they play in the dental office,” said DANB Immediate Past Chair Janée Tamayo. “DANB and the DALE Foundation have elevated and supported dental assistants through new initiatives such as the Financial Impact of Dental Assistants research, the dental assistant workforce coalition, increased scholarship opportunities, and the Dental Assisting Professional Model Workgroup.”
“The strategic plan has a lot of positive momentum, and I look forward to building on these accomplishments over the coming year,” said DANB Chair Kimberly Plate. “In addition to our public initiatives, we are doing a lot behind the scenes to improve our policies, processes and programs to lead with our values, remove barriers to enter the profession, and enhance accessibility. It’s an honor to work with fellow board members and DANB staff to make an impact on the profession and on dental assistants’ careers.”
The DALE Foundation, the official DANB affiliate, also elected its trustees and officers.
